When Crow flew into the palace he found dwarf-king Rumpelstiltskin strumming his guitar.
O no! Crow thought, not that stupid song again...
"Hocus pocus, dance and sing,
First a necklace, then a ring
Riddles and magic are my game
and Rumpelstiltskin is my name!"
"You know," the king said, "she was rather dumb and not even that pretty." He shrugged. "But falling in love just happens. You have no choice."
"Rather dumb?" Crow asked.
"Well, yes. That story about spinning straw into gold, it wasn't her father who told that. She made it up herself."
"I see."
"And that I wanted her firstborn was a lie. Something she told the king. I would have been satisfied with a kiss, but she wouldn't give me even that. Though I saved her life three times."
"Girls..." Crow said. 'You'll never guess what my wife wants."
"I can. You told her that a nest made of gold sits rather uncomfortable and won't keep the eggs warm?"
"I told her once. I told her twice." Crow sighed.
The king leaned his guitar against his throne, spat in his handpalms. "Don't worry. I'll do it."
"You are a real friend," Crow said. 'If there is any enemy who needs his eyes plucked out when he is asleep, just call."
