We do things differently

It is the ultimate put down and the end of all discussions. And he seems the kind of gent one shouldn't argue with...

This is clearly going to be a steam-punk story, but one with distinct Lovecraftian overtones. Steam-driven-Shoggoths, the Shub Niggurath stardrive?

This picture was recently used as a cover for a Jack Vance collection and fitted the story GREEN MAGIC perfectly.

I had a look at your site and blog with Mythos sculptures. Great! Such a nice texture and suppleness.
It made my fingers itch and reach for my own FIMO (the Dutch equivalent of Sculpey) and start a new nightmare fish.
If I have to make several pictures of some critter I often model it in Fimo, much easier than modeling it in a 3D program.
A tip about the oily sheen on the thingie: it is the same color-combination as mother-of-pearl and you get by sampling a good photograph of an abalone. Or, more direct, sampling my picture. I have some other pictures with mother -of-pearl effect;
See for instance [link]
Keep on with the good work and thanks for the inspiration.

A steampunk Shoggoth...now that's a thought.

Really great illustration, I quite like that oily, reflective colour on the...thingies.

My favourite picture of you so far!

I can't say there's anything I dislike at all. I love the color scheme. The shapes remind me of a beautiful shimmering clothe I once saw. The man seems mysterious and interesting.

If this was the cover of a book, I probably wouldn't care about who wrote it, what the title is or what the story is about. I'd buy it simply on this first impression and let myself be surprised to what the story entrails.

Always nice when people tell me I am getting better. All illustrators and writers like to think that their last work is the best.
The picture gives me a strange feeling, too, and if I wasn't writing already two novels simultaneously, his story would be the one I would be writing right now.
