To sail beyond the sunset

The ships of the Hanze use the magic moment of sunset to cross over to the continents of the Gran Terre

My Gran Terre novels were inspired by Lovecraft tales like the Dreamquest for unknown Kadath, a mixture of wonder and horror

The picture will be used as inside illustration for the Dutch magazine Wonderwaan

By the way, the phrase 'To sail beyond the sunset' is from Ulysses by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, a very strange and melancholy poem.

This is really beautiful! The whole picture gives a nice feel, the way the water waves bend and the ship is just sailing on... it's really well done!

Reminds me strongly of "The White Ship" by HPL, when they sail beyond the basalt column of the west and into the chaos...
